Air source heat pumps are dependant on outside air temperature and become less efficient as the temperature drops. We recommend -10C as a set point where the heat pump should default to a backup heat source

Make sure you have enough chimney

A rule of thumb for determining how much chimney you need for proper woodstove performance is to measure the distance from the bottom of the stove to the top of the chimney (cap) - you should have at least 15 feet.
