Why can’t I use stove pipe to add some length to my existing chimney?

Chimney systems by code need to be installed once a transition through a combustible (roof or wall) is required. Once the transition to chimney is made the chimney system must be completed through to termination (chimney cap).

Leaking water hydrants?

Removing your garden hoses in the fall will allow the siphon on the wall hydrant to function. Doing so ensures all water has been drained out of the system and will prevent a burst pipe and a costly repair.
