Do I need a roof over my heat pump?

However, in some cases where the unit may not be running consistently, snow can accumulate inside the unit and cause issues on startup. If you prefer not to install a shelter,  you should ensure all snow is cleaned off the heat pump on a regular basis

Install pressure gauges on either side of your water filter

An easy way to determine whether it's time to change your whole house water filter(s) is to install a second pressure gauge after your filter(s). By checking the pressure difference from the first gauge to the second you can verify water flow thru the filter(s).
