Acrylic is a sheet of material that is heated and vacuum formed over a mold, creating a continous waterproof membrane. It is then reinforced with fiberglass. Gelcoat fiberglass is a polyester resin sprayed onto a mold and then reinforced with fine glass particles. One is a solid surface, the other is porous.

The standard in water line is copper, always has been, but it is expensive and generally used in commercial applications and premium installations. Plastic water line is far more common and with the advances in pipe composition, almost as durable. We provide two Crosslinked Polyethylene options, IPEX and Uponor.
